She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Esther Brown husband, Laurence Mistic and sisters, Arlayne Ness and Marilyn Cyphers. She sponsored 2 children thru a charity called Unbound through her church. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Mistic of Bemidji, Paul (Kim) Mistic of Bemidji, Hal (Robin) Mistic of Tenstrike, Jeff (Dana) Mistic of Alabaster, AL, Douglas (Jeannie) Mistic of Blackduck and Richard (Trina) Mistic of Nebish sister, Gail (Howard) Gregg of Apache Junction, AZ 21 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. She loved to sing in the church choir and was a choir director in her church for 21 years. She also enjoyed playing card games, puzzles, traveling, flower gardening, fishing and spending time with her friends and family. Janet enjoyed quilting, sewing, needle craft, cooking for her family. They traveled between Castle Rock, WA and Yuma, AZ in winter months. Later they moved to a farm in Palo, MN and in 1972 moved back to the Nebish area. They lived in Nebish and moved to the Biwabik area. ![]() On Septemshe married Laurence Mistic in Nebish. Janet worked in the Blackduck Bakery where Laurence met her. She grew up in Shotley, attended elementary school and graduated from Kelliher High School. Janet LaVerne Brown was born Apin Shotley, MN to Theodore and Esther (Helgeson) Brown.
